Dear Gib,

I understand there's a lot going on with Roxy and Strike, and it's exciting.

I still have to ask a really dumb question.

What is pack ice, and how can it come for you, and why does the wind make it happen faster?

Okay, sorry, that's three questions. This is something I just don't understand.

Thanks,
Niknik

Hi Nancy,
Today Elizabeth (6 years old) has a question about the jellyfish that look like eyeballs. " Are the jellyfish in eggs, or are they grown-ups?"
She also would like to know more about the second picture, the salp? Is it like a slug?
Thanks!

I am wondering if the creatures in the last picture are krill?

Hi. Those icebergs are HUGE!!:0 Why are they so flat on the top? Is is because of erosion? I hoope Strike doesn't speak again. That's just plain creepy.

        Too bad about the plane,

Hi, Lorenzo again. Thanks for answering my questions. Also I've been busy the last few days so I have some catching up to do. I think you should name one of the planes "The Mosquito" :)

Hi Nancy!

Snowball is not just a stuffed animal. SHE has magical powers, just like Strike. We know this because she sends us messages through our thoughts and dreams.
We hope she and Strike can get together soon and have fun.

We miss all of you,
Sarah and Liz Reisenbichler (Snowballs Mom and Grandma)

Hi Nancy,
We have been following your and Strike's adventure. We hope Strike can get together with Snowball for a "date." Snowball sent us a telepathic message today after we read your blog. (She's on the ship too, staying with Grandpa Kim Reisenbichler, who's part of Dr. Robison's team.) She's kind of jealous of Strike because she's getting cabin fever and wants to go out on deck to see the iceberg too. But Grandpa Kim has been really busy and hasn't been able to take her with him. She also said she's a little bit afraid to go out there. We think she would feel much better if she could go with you and Strike next time you go. She's also jealous because Strike got his picture posted on this blog. Grandpa Kim has a few photos of her that have been taken througout this trip (hint, hint).

We await your next posting, and hope that Strike and Snowball can meet each other soon. Best wishes for good weather and sea legs too.

Thank you for sharing your experiences this way. We are Ben Twining's family (Cricket, Semma (4), and Oscar (2)) and especially like the photos. Semma and Oscar wonder if the photo on today's post is their dad. It sure looks like him--stance and chin--but with all the gear it's hard to tell! We will follow along with you, and hope you find lots of penguins--real and stuffed!
